| Coastway Pledges $100,000 Contribution to Kent Hospital’s Heart Center |

(Cranston, RI)The Coastway Cares Charitable Foundation has pledged their largest contribution to date to Kent Hospital’s $2.8 million capital campaign for its new Heart Center.
Coastway’s $100,000 pledge toward the new facility will aid in its opening in 2009 and provide patients in the central and southern part of the state with access to emergency angioplasty services closer to home. In addition, these funds will support the hospital’s efforts to ensure that patients receive the procedure in a timely manner with the full support of the hospital’s experienced clinical team, and help purchase advanced imaging technology for Kent’s cardiac cath lab. "Coastway has been extremely generous in providing this gift to Kent Hospital's Heart Center. It's very meaningful to see the commitment that Coastway has to the community," said Sandra Coletta, Kent Hospital’s President and Chief Executive Officer.
Currently, central and southern Rhode Island patients in the midst of a heart crisis must be transported to other locations in and north of Providence. The introduction of the Heart Center at Kent Hospital will mean valuable minutes shaved off ambulance transportation time, which can often make a significant difference in outcomes for a cardiac patient.

Coastway Cares Charitable Foundation is a nonprofit formed by Coastway Credit Union and staffed with employee volunteers.
