Social Work Services Department

Kent’s Social Work department helps patients and their families cope with adjustments to illness or injury. Staff members of this department are master’s degree licensed professionals who can help with crises or difficulties associated with illness or hospitalization. The social worker is a member of the hospital’s multidisciplinary care team that includes your doctor, nurse, care manager, and specialists.

Social work services are provided throughout the hospital as well as in some outpatient programs. Referrals are often generated by your physician, but anyone can ask for a referral to the Social Work department – you, your family members, nurse – by contacting the office and requesting one.

Contact the Kent Social Services Department for information or a consultation if you or a family member are experiencing any of the following:

  • Received a diagnosis that will change your life
  • Difficulty adjusting to your illness
  • Questions about health care entitlements and resources
  • Social, emotional, or medical concerns
  • Substance use
  • Difficulty with change
